06/16/20: FDA has recognized that several COVID19 serological tests (antibody) have been falsely advertised to be used at home. If you are a candidate for the COVID19 antibody test, visit the link below to see the list of serological tests that are appropriately authorized.

06/15/20: FDA has revoked the emergency use authorization (EUA) of Hydroxychloroquine because scientific data and studies so far have indicated the lack of benefit in inhibiting or killing SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID19.

06/04/20: A paper in NJEM determined that Hydroxychloroquine was not associated with decreased or increased risk of intubation and death in patients with COVID19 from an observational study.

05/15/20: We are seeing multitsystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C) in pediatric patients with COVID--19. Although children are less likely to develop serious complications from COVID-19 compared to adults, it is important to keep all their vaccinations up to date, as COVID-19 symptoms may be similar to that of a common cold or respiratory syndromes.  (CDC)


05/11/20: FDA initiates the Coronavirus Treatment Acceleration Program, so far 130 clinical trials of potential COVID-19 drugs and biologics are being tested. (FDA)

04/24/20: FDA highlights the potential risks of antimalarial drugs such as Hydroxyhloroquine, and warns that any related use for COVID19 may be subjected to adverse reactions such as QT interval prolongation and other cardiovascular events. (FDA)


04/21/20: FDA approves patients collecting their samples at home for COVID-19 specifically for LabCorp's PCR diagnostic test. Note that this is currently the only FDA approved take home test at the moment. (FDA)
